Bruggeman takes part in the world championships in coastal rowing

MINNEAPOLIS – The newest addition to the University of Minnesota’s rowing program will be serving as an assistant coach this week Molly Brüggemann competes with Great Britain at the 2021 World Coastal Rowing Championships in Oeiras, Portugal. The three-day event begins on Thursday, September 30th and lasts through Saturday, October 2nd.

Born in Dayton, Ohio, Bruggeman most recently served as a deputy on the 2020 U.S. Olympic team and was previously on the international stage with gold medals at the 2018 World Rowing Championships, the 2015 Pan American Games, and two wins at the 2014 World Rowing championships while representing rowing under 23 championships while at added a silver medal to the 2016 World Rowing Championships.

As a college rower, Bruggeman was three times CRCA Division I Pocock All-American in Notre Dame – in 2011 and 2012 she received awards for the first team and in 2014 the awards for the second team for the Fighting Irish in the Big East (2011 and 2013) and the ACC (2014).
