Cross Country hosting the Dave Murray Invitational

TUCSON, Arizona. – After two meetings on the road, Arizona Cross Country will host the only home meeting of the season, the annual Dave Murray Invitational, on Friday October 1st, on the Rolling Hills Golf Course.

The competition starts at 7:00 AM with the women’s 6K opening, followed by the men’s 8K at 7:45 AM. Live results can be found here.

Before the meeting starts, head coach Bernard Lagat will host an Arizona Cross Country Talk at 6:15 am. The event is open to the public without a ticket.

The trip to Tucson takes you through the states of Arizona, Grand Canyon, New Mexico and San Diego.

Last time the women finished third and the men seventh out of 24 teams at the UC Riverside Invitational on September 18. Grace Driskill was the top female finisher and was third over the 6 km with a time of 20: 28.4, good for a PR. Peyton Pagans (20: 59.1), Maddy Christopher (21: 12.1), Meggie Karp (21: 43.7) and Megan’s borders (22: 45.9) also achieved personal bests and achieved a total of five PRs for the women’s team, which is now in 15th place on the USTFCCCA West Region ranking list. On the men’s side, Shem Kemboi crossed the finish line first with an 8 km time of 24: 35.2 and a 24th place. Timothy Kibet (25: 04.6), Jeffrey Sillers (25: 30.5) and Brandon Borders (26: 11.0) all done with PRs.
