WESTON, Wisconsin (WSAW) – A nonprofit is leading the fundraiser to raise $ 12 million to $ 15 million for a new state-of-the-art sports facility on the DC Everest Area Senior High School campus.

DC Everest Area Education Foundation secretary Michelle Rothmeyer said the money to fund the facility will be privately provided. In a press release, she stated that no county public money or taxes will be used to fund the planning, construction and future operations of the facility.

The Sports Performance and Recreation Center will be an indoor artificial turf facility that will accommodate many groups by having a full size playing field that can be divided into four rooms. A walking track, jump pit, batting cages, golf simulator, concessions / café, team rooms, athletic training room, power wall, functional fitness area are also planned.

“We are pleased that Bob Greenheck Sr., Purple Mountain Solutions and the Lewitzke Foundation have received significant commitments for the facility,” said Lindsey Lewitzke of the Education Foundation. “We are very grateful for the philanthropy of the main donors. You got our campaign off the ground and supported us in the best possible way. They will pave the way for this facility to be a top notch facility. “

As soon as the system is in operation, it is operated at cost price via the usage fees and concessions. Any natural or legal person can rent the space for an acceptable use – similar to how Greenheck Fieldhouse is currently working.

Construction will not begin until the project is fully funded.
