Seahawks Men’s Rowing competes in the Kerr Cup Regatta
Philly, PA- The St. Mary’s Rowing crew competed in their third competition of the spring at the Kerr Cup Regatta this Saturday (April 16). The Seahawks squared off against rivals in the conference: Bucknell, Franklin & Marshall, Lehigh, and Washington College. The Seahawks also competed against a large number of Division I club and varsity programs. Weather conditions for today’s race were as follows:

How It Happened (MV8+):
- The Seahawk men’s varsity 8 team competed in the first heat of the competition and finished with a time of 7:21.2 ahead of conference opponents Franklin and Marshall. St. Mary’s finished fourth in the heat and earned them a trip to the Petit Final. St. Mary placed fifth overall in the small final and eleventh place overall in the competition with a time of 7:40.6. This race gave the St. Mary’s team a great preview of conference championships to be held in a few weeks.
How It Happened (MV4+):
- The men’s Varsity 4 squad for St. Mary’s rode in the second heat of the competition and finished fifth overall in that heat. The Seahawks crossed the finish line with a finishing time of 9:01.4 and were up against top-flight college opponents.
St. Mary’s Men’s Rowing returns to action on April 23 when they line up for the Seahawks against Catholic University on Senior Day. The Seahawks will host the Cardinals on the St. Mary’s River.
