Stella Maris regatta hosts enjoy rowing success on the Dublin coast on the River Liffey

The Stella Maris Rowing Clubs first post-pandemic regatta on the River Liffey at Poolbeg Marina on Sunday will go down in history as one of the best in many years, not necessarily because of the success on the water enjoyed by the host club all day over but more for all the other elements that just made for a great day out on the capital’s waters in Dublin Harbour.

This was the first coastal rowing regatta to actually take place on the east coast route this year.

Three others (Dalkey, Skerries and Balbriggan/Fingal) were canceled in late May and early June due to high winds and adverse conditions unsuitable for offshore rowing.

As Afloat previously reported, ten clubs along the east coast from Balbriggan to Arklow took part, putting 120 crews on the water throughout the day.

Brilliant weather, high spirits, healthy rivalries and racing that ran efficiently and on time made for a wonderful East Coast regatta enjoyed by a variety of coastal rowing clubs.

While Stella Maris was perhaps the big winner throughout the day, all East Coast clubs put on great performances with all clubs in attendance being represented on the full medal table. See results below.
