The women’s rowing ranks 10th in Collegiate 8 on Head of the Fish

The Hamilton College Continentals College Eight entry finished 10th out of 23 boats in the Collegiate Eights race at the 2021 Head of Fish Regatta at Fish Creek in Saratoga Springs, NY on October 30th.

Race conditions were drizzle with a little tailwind, but overall pretty decent for the end of October. The Head of the Fish is Hamilton’s fall season finale.

The Continentals set a time of 11:36:50 in the Collegiate Eights and finished third out of six NESCAC participations. A Syracuse University boat won the race with a time of 10: 51.54.

Hamilton finished 18th out of 23 boats in the Collegiate 2V Eights race with a time of 12: 49.65. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology was the winner in 11: 33.61.

The Continentals had two entries in the Collegiate Freshman / Novice Eights race. One of the boats took sixth place out of 19 entries with a time of 12: 47.88 and the other took 18th place in 15: 35.89. Hamilton’s top boat came second in eight NESCAC entries. Cornell University was the winner in 11: 37.89.

The Continentals also had two entries in the Collegiate Fours race. Hamilton finished 10th of 39 entries with a time of 13: 07.77 and the 29th in 14: 15.04. Six boats from NESCAC schools took part in the race. An entry from Syracuse was the winner in 11: 59.39. The Continentals landed in the Collegiate Freshman / Novice Fours race with a time of 15: 22.99 on the sixth of nine boats.

Hamilton will be back in the water in March 2022.
