The union awarded $ 3,500 scholarships to six overseas students, including Justus Anderson, Jathniel O’Mara, Kenshensae Simons, Toschella Trott, Zene Wade, and Mikayla Wilson.

Another six $ 1,500 awards were given to students looking to continue their education locally or online, including Kinika Bowers, Tricha Cross-Pitcher, Tiffany Durham, Sloane Johnson, Davondra Sealey, and Najah-Rae Watson.

Armell Thomas, President of the BPSU, highlighted the importance of supporting education and urged recipients to find ways to give back to others in the community.

Kevin Grant, chairman of the BPSU education committee, said the union has given more than $ 710,000 in scholarships to students since 1993.
