USAA Rewards Visa Signature Credit Card 2021 Review – Forbes Advisor

USAA® Rewards™ Visa Signature® Card* vs. Citi® Double Cash Card

The Citi® Double Cash Card outearns the USAA Rewards Visa card with an unlimited, no-category-restrictions 2% cash back on all purchases—1% when purchases are made and another 1% when they’re paid off. It also comes with an introductory APR offer: 0% intro APR on balance transfers for 18 months. After that, the standard variable APR will be 13.99% – 23.99%, based on creditworthiness. There is also an intro balance transfer fee of either $5 or 3% of the amount of each transfer, whichever is greater, completed within the first 4 months of account opening. After that, the fee will be 5% of each transfer (minimum $5).

Where the USAA Rewards card shines is its extra benefits. The Citi Double Cash offers excellent cash-back rewards but doesn’t have major extra perks, while the USAA Rewards Card delivers auto rental collision damage waiver coverage and several travel protections from accident coverage to baggage delay coverage.

USAA® Rewards™ Visa Signature® Card* vs. Navy Federal GO REWARDS® Credit Card*

The Navy Federal Go Rewards offers 3 points per dollar at restaurants, 2 points per dollar on gas and 1 point per dollar on everything else. For this reason, anyone spending money at restaurants, even occasionally, will earn more points with the Navy Federal Go Rewards Card.

The two cards offer entirely different bonus features. The Navy Federal Go Rewards offers cell phone damage and theft insurance but not much else. Both cards charge no annual fee and no foreign transaction fees but the Go Rewards card also doesn’t charge any cash advance or balance transfer fees. The Go Rewards card comes with a welcome bonus of This card does not offer a welcome bonus.

USAA® Rewards™ Visa Signature® Card* vs. USAA® Preferred Cash Rewards Visa Signature® Card*

The USAA Preferred Cash Rewards Visa earns an 1.5% cash back on every purchase. For those who don’t spend heavily on gas or dining, this card’s cash back structure may make much more sense than the rewards on the USAA Rewards Visa Signature.

Though still not on par with the likes of 2% cash back cards, the rewards potential of the USAA Preferred Cash Rewards should be compared to the USAA Rewards Visa Signature card in the context of each applicant’s spending habits. Many other aspects of the card are the same: all the same extra benefits are available with each of these cards, for example.
