Release of the 2022 IRCA All-America Team

Wilkins is one of nine athletes on the first team. He is the first Hamilton men to row All-American and this is the second year in a row that IRCA has presented its athletes with All-American honors.

The rower and helmsman must have raced their team’s collegiate boat in the current spring racing season and their head coach must be in good standing with the IRCA to be designated an All-American. Nominated student-athletes are selected by the IRCA Board of Directors based on the placement strength of the institution’s varsity boat, nominating rank within the institution and coach’s comments, individual performance, and erg score.

“Nick is one of a kind”, head coach James Lister said. “A successful dual athlete with exceptional results as a swimmer and rower, his time split between the two sports did not split his contribution to either team. I like to think he improved both programs from what he brought to the guys around him. A confident leader with a positive attitude, Nick is a tough competitor who gives his best in every practice and race. I congratulate Nick on this honor as he represented Hamilton athletics in such a great way.”

Wilkins led the varsity Continentals to fifth place in the inaugural Intercollegiate Rowing Association Division III Men’s National Championship regatta in early June and third place in the small final of the 2022 National Invitational Rowing Championships on May 8. Hamilton finished fifth in the finals IRCA Division III Varsity 8+ Top 15 poll.
