Women’s Crew finishes second at Findley Lake

Findley Lake, NY – The RIT women’s crew attended the Findley Lake Autumn Classic hosted by Mercyhurst on Sunday. The Tigers finished second and fourth in the 5K head race.

RIT’s first Varsity 8 came in second with a time of 27: 16.60. Last season’s runner-up in NCAA Division II, Mercyhurst, won with a time of 25: 43.39. Marietta was third with a time of 27: 37.76, Penn State was fourth with a time of 29: 51.63, while RIT’s second Varsity 8 finished with a time of 29: 43.06.

Mercyhurst celebrated its 50th year of rowing at this event. Added a 500 meter sprint multiplied by four to the total 5K times.

RIT will be back in action on Saturday, October 9th at 9:00 am to compete in the Head of the Genesee race at Genesee Valley Park in Rochester.
