PHILADELPHIA – The Temple Women’s rowing team had a day of competition at the 2021 Head of the Schuylkill Regatta. The Owls picked up a silver medal in the women’s Freshman Four and a gold medal in the women’s Club 8. The Owls competed in five events where a total of seven boats raced down the Schuylkill River.

>”Today was a really strong day,” said the head coach Rebecca Grzybowski. “I thought our performance as a team reflected all the hard work we put in together this fall. The collective energy was great and every boat raced hard and intense. We’ve had some good results around the circuit, including two boats with medals, which is always fun and we’re hungry for more.”
Ladies Rookie Four
>Temple entered a boat in the Freshman Four event.
>Temple snatched the silver medal, posting a time of 14:42.022 in a field of 17 boats.
Women’s Championship Four
>Temple had two contestants competing in the championship four in a deep field of 40 boats.
>Temple “A” completed in the 11th centuryth place with a time of 14:53.508.
>Temple “B” was close behind in 13th placeth Clock rate in 14:58,480.
Ladies Freshman Eight
>The owls entered their first college race. Temple finished 9th and clocked a time of 15:46.802.
Women’s Club Eight
>Temple had two boats in the Club Eight category.
> The Owls had a great day of racing competing in a deep field of 36 boats.
>Temple “A” snatched the gold medal with a time of 12:41.297.
>Temple “B” was close behind in 5th placeth place with a time of 13:21.493.
Women’s Champion Eight
>The owls turned 5th of 7 boats with a time of 12:48.132.

> Temple will be racing at the Head of the Floody next weekend.
