Women’s Rowing welcomes back Mollie Cusack as assistant coach

PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel University women’s rowing team is pleased to announce former Dragon Mollie Cusack as their assistant coach.

“We are very happy to bring Mollie home,” said the head coach Paul Savel. “As a coach, she gained valuable experience in Villanova, Jacksonville and all her previous positions. Mollie can relate to our current student athletes with her experience as a standout rower and team captain as a member of the Dragons.”

Most recently, Cusack was recruitment coordinator and assistant coach at Villanova. With the Wildcats, she helped the team finish third at last year’s Colonial Athletic Association Championships and was responsible for managing prospective student recruitment activities, including developing interest in junior athletes, and coordinating all visits to the Campus.

During his time at VU, Cusack was also part of Villanova’s UNITAS taskforce to ensure the department fosters a diverse, inclusive and equitable environment for our students.

Before Villanova, she was an assistant coach at Jacksonville University, where the team won an MAAC championship in 2018.

A native of the Philadelphia area, Cusack earned her bachelor’s degree in Sports Management from Drexel in 2014. She was part of a Varsity 8+ gold medalist at the Kelly Cup Regatta and a Varsity 8+ silver medalist at the Dad Vail Regatta.
